Good Deal's Orchard

Well sadly it was our last day at our grandma's house. But on our last day there we decided to go to a orchard -- Deal's Orchard. I was wondering what the place looked like so I was getting a little anxious to see what the place looked like. But right before I could check the place out, my mom stopped me right before I could see much stuff. So instead of thinking what I should do first I had to stop and get my picture taken.

Well finally I got to check the place out.

And now I have to get my picture taken again! What's wrong with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

Air mattress football! 99 yard touch down run! By number almost 9! But by number 8.

And a great catch by number 5.

And he needs to pull up his pants after the tackle.[p.s. he always needs to pull up his pants]

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the cheer leader's come on for half time.

Game has been canceled due to boringness.

Sorry little girl you have to be bigger than 1 foot 9 to ride by your self.

Poor little kid. Only got candy corn for halloween.

Another death in the corn yard. There has been ten already today.

Look on this collision with a red thing-a-majig and a pink thing-a-majig.

Grandma and the donkeys

Well that guy is taking a little bit of a risk. He may not come out alive.

Well now we are checking out the national duck racing. Our new champion is mazy hanson due to bo hanson getting disqualified because of whining after a loss.

Well now you have a news report on the stuff in the deal's orchard.

We went into the shop market. We could pick out a free apple from ones in a little crate at the door. I chose a Red Delicious because I liked the name. The Red Delicious apples you buy at the grocery store looks almost black purple or maroonish, and they taste bland. The ones at the orchard are brighter and they taste sweeter and juicier.

You can buy cider, slush, honey, apple pies and a lot of other stuff. I got a cider slush. It tasted good -- sweet. We bought creamed honey and regular honey. Creamed honey is honey but it's almost like a honey paste. I eat it on bread. It's sweeter than some other kinds. The last thing we bought was apple cider. Cider is different than apple juice. For the cider, they put apples inside of a barrel and then they push down and crush the apples. Then they separate all the juice and the seeds and skin and stem away and leave the apple meat, and then they crush the apple meat more and it makes cider that gets put into bottles. I prefer to drink apple cider.

If you go to Jefferson to Deal's Orchard you could go to the Pizza Ranch afterward for lunch, like we did.

Flag Festival with Goat

Sorry it's been so long since I had my last post. It's been a busy fall, and we haven't been able to do much, anyhow lets get down to business. In the summer I went to the world food festival. When we first got there it was pretty crowded so we had to stick together. As we were walking around I was getting hungry and we went to some place. I saw they had a kim chi taco. when I got it I took a bite and then a another and thought hmm....messy...little to much kim chi. It was the kim chi that I didn't like because it was too sour.

Next I got pork belly. When I first tried it I thought too much fat because I didn't take a bite of the meaty part. After I figured out it even had a meaty part it tasted pretty good.

Ladies and gentleman may I please present to you the world famous blood soup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry about all the enthusiasm but it kinda fits in with the sentence. The blood soup was a little bland and dry. I thought it tasted better last year?

Oh those suckers tasted good. The one with the white stuff was good. One reason I liked it was because it was goat burger and I think it had goat cheese YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are the flags of all the places where the food came from.

I asked for iced coffee and then I started reading a newspaper like my cousin Theron did too, heeheeheeheeheeheehee.

There I am eating ice cream stupidly. NOW ALL DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Abla's Monster (I know how to spell Alba!)

Last wednesday me my mom and my dad went to a restaurant called alba. When we walked in I saw bugs in jars and old peppers to. It was Restaurant Week 2013 in Des Moines -- which means the food is cheaper.

Heres my appetizer its bacon wrapped rabbit terrine with pickled radish and some green that I don't know the name of. I really liked the rabbit terrine. I tasted the fat from the bacon. And I also tasted the tenderness of the rabbit terrine. It was a good mix of flavors.
I forgot what that was. I think it was my dads appetizer.
I didn't eat much of my sweet corn soup. It was to sweet for me. So me and mom traded appetizers. My mom's original appetizer was the rabbit terrine.
Here I am eating my vegetables like a good boy.
Here is my entree' pork loin and a             darn I forgot what it was called. Mom said it was sweetcorn and bacon like a cake. It was too sweet. The sweet corn was mushed up, like the soup, and I think that makes it too sweet. If it weren't mushed up it would have been better.
Here I am cutting my pork loin with a knife. The pork loin was a little dry but with a bite of peach salsa it made it much much better.
The reason my plate isn't all clean is because I wanted a dessert.
There were a lot of doors on the ceiling in the restaurant and the reason I liked my spot is because there was a blue door over me. And if the blue door fell, I would be safe because I was sitting below the window part but the window didn't have glass in it.
My dessert was a root beer float -- it had vanilla ice cream and root beer. The root beer was sort of like, well I don't know what root beer is made of. The fizzy and the kind of bitter sweetness and the vanilla tasted good together. And if that was my last picture then this review is over. But I'm not sure this is the last picture. I'm checking right now. This is not my last picture... more talking.
I do not remember what my mom's dessert was. It tasted sweet again. Really sweet. Because it had sweet corn.
I'm still drinking it and I'm halfway done, you can see.
My tummy hurts!

Do not throw anything at the doors at alba. They'll get mad at you, and they might fall and hurt the doors feelings. So you better not do that! I would recommend Alba for people that like fancy restaurants, not for picky eaters.

He Ate the Balls! He Ate the Balls!

This is part 2 of 2 Iowa State Fair Chronicles. And yes, again, the Amazing Bo is coming in and talking too, quite a bit.

Mazy: Here you see a menacing picture of 'the giant slide.' But that's not how big it is. The giant slide is WAY bigger than that tiny little thing.
Bo: It's way bigger than that 's' that the person is riding down.

Mazy: Here I am. I feel like a stupid guy. If you can see I'm actually doing it with my cousin. We're putting our hands in the air and screaming. I cannot remember why we were doing that.
Bo: We're sitting down. They were shouting like, "Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Because they love the big slide!"
Mazy: Actually I don't think we made a sound.

Mazy: This is the biggest slide in Iowa history! And I'm not kidding. I bet that's true; is it?
Bo: I'm going up the humongous humongous big slide!

Mazy: I'm climbing up this and it's not very fun climbing up a big slide. You can look through the stairs and see all these little tiny poles, but I knew they wouldn't break.
Bo: What tiny poles?
Mazy: Well you can't see them now, Bo. You have to be there.

Mazy: This was freaky! This is a perfect picture of you seeing us making a jump! Can you see us making a jump?! But it was scary. And awesome at the same time. 'Scawesome.'

Bo: I was scared when we were going down at the top. When I got down to the bottom I wasn't scared. When I went the first time I was scared. When I went again, I wasn't scared. I asked my mom if we could go three times, but she said no because we didn't have that much tickets.

Mazy: You got a picture! Hahah! I'm on the ski lift with my cousin. It was the first time I've ever went on a ski lift without an adult on it with me. Kael was getting kind of scared.

Bo: Here I'm eating a banana corn dog! Hahah. No it wasn't a banana corn dog! It was a corn dog with mustard! It was good.

Bo: That looks weird. Look at Kael. I put my face through a little circle and then my cousin looks funny because he was smiling and then I had to go to the restroom.
Mazy: Kael was photo bombing in a weird way.

Mazy: We went to this stand because my mom said it had the best ice cream.

Mazy: I got the Cookie Mountain; it was good. It was a cookie and there was chocolate sauce, hot fudge to be exact, there was vanilla ice cream and there was a mound of whipped cream on the top. It tasted good because the whipped cream was sweet and foamy, the ice cream was kind of hard and cold and sweet, and then the hot fudge was hot and really soft, and the cookie was hard and medium and normal temperature.

Bo: I got va-lina. I like it. And because I got a little cup. It tasted really good. The end.

Mazy: The jalapeƱo cheddar dog was hot! The corn dog was hot and then there was cheese on it that was also hot, and there were jalapeƱos that were hot. So it was hotness supreme and that kind of cheddar dog. Very good.

Bo: This was fun holding a Fox Snake and my brother wanted to but he got to hold a turtle and so did I. And the snake really tickled a lot and on the top it was really rough. One time it hissed at me and it had a really long tail.

Mazy: I'm holding a tiny little baby turtle. I forgot what it's called. This was at the Natural Resources Building.

Mazy: The turtle's shell was smooth, and it tickled a lot when it moved around.

Mazy: This is tenderloin. Actually, it's cow balls. Not joking. They were called prairie oysters. And I think that's a creepy name because it's peculiar. I wanted to get them because my dad told me about them and they sounded weird. They sounded cool to eat.

Mazy: It tasted like chicken, and I'm not kidding. It was deliciousssssssssssssssssssssssss! It was breaded and that was good, it tasted kind of crunchy. And the ... balls, tasted like chicken fingers except they were a little too salty. I'm not joking. You can ask my mom, she's never wrong. Well sometimes she is. It looked poop-colored inside. I would recommend people eat these because they put their choice-making abilities and taste to the ultimate test. You can get them at the Iowa Cattlemen's Beef Quarters by Snakes Alive.

Bo: It tasted really good. Because it was really salty! I want to have them again! I thinked about eating one and seeing what it taste like. I thought it tasted like spoiled meat. The enddddddddddddd.

When you go to the fair you should ALWAYS try new foods. It's the best thing to do. The end and do not eat too many beef jerky sticks. You'll get fat. Not kidding.
