Rice Party

Today I was in Nevada. Me and my dad were thinking about going to Mayhem, the comic book store, and we were thinking about having lunch, so we walked around a little bit. And we found a place called Rice House. It was a new restaurant, and it was a Korean restaurant. We got it to go.
I ordered kimchi fried rice, and my dad got bibimbop. We also got dumplings. My fried rice had pickled cabbage; it sounds weird but it was pretty good. It also had an egg and some fish squares. The pickled cabbages tasted sour and they were crunchy because that’s what pickles and cabbage are like. The fish squares were kind of chewy like rubber and they tasted like fish (I don’t know what fish tastes like, really). They tasted sort of…meaty? Kind of?

I tried my dad’s bibimbop. It was pretty good, and it was a teeny bit spicy. Just a teeny bit, because of the sauce. If you’re wondering why the picture looks weird, the rice came in a different box, so that’s why.
The dumplings tasted like they had some sort of meat inside. I forgot what kind. They were not very crunchy, but they were good. Even without the soy sauce. There were also some vegetables inside of it. Even though I can’t remember what meat and vegetables they had inside it, they tasted pretty good, still.
If you want to try the bibimbop, if you get too much hot sauce it will make your tongue hurt, so don’t get too much hot sauce. Rice House is a good restaurant. You should go there sometime, but don’t get too much food because a sign there said, “Get sides that you can eat, do not waste food,” so don’t get too much food. Just get the right amount, that’s my advice for you.

Jami Graves' Review: Hot Dogs

Jami Graves bought me at the auction. Well, not like took me away from my parents but I had this thing where I said I would eat any food that anybody wanted me to eat so she bid like $50 and won the auction. And those $50 went to United Way. United Way is a helpful organization where people help people who are in trouble, education and health. I agreed to be in the auction to finally get a food review up because it's been like 50 days practically...

That's why I'm calling this the Jami Graves' Review -- it's the first time I've ever called it after a person.

Message to Jami: I liked that hot dog place. Good job finding that hot dog place. We might go to it often.

OK, let's get started. We were going downtown and we found the hot doggery Hotshots. I do not like that name. It should probably be Rockets Hot Doggery. I ordered a hot dog called Cruiser. It had onions, a gigantic hot dog (aka beef hot dog, aka weiner, aka just normal hot dog), mustard and ketchup too. It was huge. I chose it because, I don't know, I didn't want to take much time in the line and it looked good on the menu.

I had to take pretty big bites to get down to the beef (aka hot dog). It tasted pretty good -- it was like a hot dog sort of mixed with bacon, I guess. And then it had a bunch of grease and that made it taste good. It was pretty good. It was a good hot dog. Really good. The size was absolutely ridiculous! Because it was humungo-badungo. Well that's basically all to my review. Hope you guys like it because it took a lot of time eating that thing. Oh, and I had lemonade for a drink. I had a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad tasted pretty good -- there were different colored pasta. It had herbs and dressing on it. I don't think it had any kind of vegetables, which is weird that they call it a salad, right?

The restaurant looks pretty good. It's by Jimmy John's and not far from the art sculpture place. Inside the restaurant are pictures of famous people, famous movie stars. I think young people will like eating there. I'm not saying that old people can't because they can if they want to. Anyways, it's good for anybody. Well, I mean it's not healthy but it tastes good. You gotta watch how much you eat there or you could really get unhealthy.

That's all I have to say.

It's not too late to volunteer or give money to the United Way organization. People need help everywhere so you could volunteer or give money now. Well, the end.

Bad Day

Today, did I like today? NOO! Today was horrible, terrible absolutely dreadful because…… IT SNOWED!!!! I didn’t want it to snow today. Its May. May is spring, not winter. I hate winter when it’s in the wrong spot. I like winter when it’s in December, because that’s my birthday. I like it in January and February too. But snow in may? Whoever heard of snow in may after it was just a really hot day outside!

Has mother nature gone crazy? Or does she just have the flu and sneezes a lot so snow comes down?

So at first, I woke up and was like, “hhm, rain.” Then I noticed it seemed to be going slow. And I knew it was snow because it turned white. So I ate my breakfast in the van, but first I had to go out and get my football out of the snow, because it was my special one. Then I had to get the mail. It was soaked but it survived.

School was just like normal. Today I finished my story of “the three little ostriches and the big bad nothing.” It’s a funny story. If you could hear it you would probably think it was funny too. So after that I started another story called “the three little salmon and the big bad grizzly bear.” I thought it’d be good because they’re kind of rivals or something. At projects, we worked on our model grain bin. We’re learning about corn, by the way. So we were working on our grain bin and we were doing pretty good but we need a way to get the corn up through the auger. We were doing sort of good but we ran out of time so I guess we’ll work on it tomorrow.

Well lunch and recess, same. But at recess we got to play this game called Trouble and I had to be red and a kid, my friend named Ryan, he was one space away from getting his last person home, and it was 10, but I got a six on my turn and got to roll again and got a five so I got home and I won the game. My friend Ryan got second, my friend Cooper got third but my friend Sophie got last. I was pretty happy that I beat a kid who everybody thought was perfect at stuff – Ryan – aka Mr. Perfect.

Today at bright horizons, a place that I hate, that’s my after-school place, we couldn’t go outside, because of course, it was SNOWING. So the stupid thing was we had to stay in the same darn spot the whole time, and we couldn’t even go to the gym, which would have been boring too, but not as boring as where we were. Finally my mom came and picked me up. We went to my brother’s school and picked him up. We went home and had this awesome supper called thai chicken. It was thai chicken with rice and peanut butter sauce, and that made it good. And there were peanuts and cilantro or herbs and cucumbers, green onions. It was hot. And I like hot stuff. But when I took a bite of the rice, I spit it out because it was way too hot. Way way way too hot. So I drank some water and that was cold and it hurt my nerves. Then I decided to go outside and get some pictures of what winter was like in May. The tulips were surviving. The poor red tulip bent down. I hope it didn’t die. I walked around. Me and my brother had a mini snowball fight. Nobody hit anybody. Then I came in. That was my boring day. Except for the good dinner by my mom. She’s a good cook. A really, really, really, really, really good cook. The end.

My brother bo’s side of the story:
I had a good day. I had a yummy breakfast. Pancakes. And Gavin wasn’t here. And the supper was really good. The goodest part of the supper was the bread and the cucumbers and the onions. And I really liked the peanuts. And the blackberries tasted really good and there was just three strawberries. And I had a good day. I watched one Curious George.  And I am about to go to bed. And I taked a bath. And that’s my story. And I did quiet reading time at my preschool.

And now that’s my reading. There. That’s it. That’s my reading. There’s my story. It’s not that much of a long one like Mazy’s. And me and my brother played football downstairs. And my brother taked a shower. And my mom named me Bo. And my mom has glasses and she has blonde hair. And she has flowers on her pants. And black pants! And that’s it.

Pictures taken by the boys tonight:
